Sell-Own-First

When you hold your own stock for a product, you almost always want to sell that before you start reselling from a supplier — it’s stock you’ve already paid for. Malovex does this for you automatically. There’s no setting to turn on: the moment a product has your own units on hand, it sells from your inventory first.

For any product where you have your own stock on hand:

  • Price comes from your own cost. Malovex prices the product from your own cost for it, not the supplier’s — regardless of your usual price basis. You picked up this stock at your cost, so that’s the basis while you’re selling it.
  • Your stock sells first, then the supplier backfills. The quantity Malovex exports to your stores is your own units plus the best supplier’s available stock. Customers draw down your inventory first; once it runs out, sales continue against supplier stock without a gap.

When you have no own stock for a product, nothing changes: Malovex prices and stocks it purely from your suppliers, exactly as it did before you added any inventory.

On a product you can see which mode it’s in. The Selling from indicator reads:

  • My Inventory — you have own stock on hand, so the product is pricing from your cost and selling your units first.
  • Supplier — you have no own stock right now, so the product is pricing and stocking from your suppliers.

A product flips between the two on its own as your own stock rises and falls — you never switch it manually.

Say you hold 30 units of Product 1 at a cost of €12, and your cheapest supplier lists it at €15 with 200 in stock:

  • Price basis: €12 (your cost), because you’re selling your own stock.
  • Stock exported to your store: 230 units — your 30 plus the supplier’s 200.
  • What sells first: your 30 units. After those, the next 200 come from the supplier.

Once your 30 units are gone, Product 1 switches to Supplier: it prices from your supplier again and shows the supplier’s 200 in stock.

There’s nothing to configure. To put a product into sell-own-first, just record your own stock for it with Adjust stock; to take it out, set that stock back to zero. Malovex handles the pricing and the stock math from there.
